About Macklin Computers.
In 1997 Michael Macklin graduated from Flinders University of South Australia with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This course had a heavy portion of Computer Science subjects that generated a great interest in the IT industry for Michael. Having had such a great exposure to PC’s in his study, Michael began repairing them for colleagues and friends in his spare time whilst working as a Project Engineer for a small Electronic Company in South Australia.

This continued until 2003 when Michael met up with a long time school friend John Owens and they formed a computer business “Owens & Macklin Computers”. This partnership lasted for 2 years until John decided to return to his previous career. Michael continued with the business for the next 3 years but changed the name to “Powerfly Computers”.
At the suggestion of a few customers, he decided to change the name to its current name “Macklin Computers” in 2008.

What was once a hobby has turned into a fulltime partnership with Michael and his wife Annette who is currently undertaking her A+ Computer Certification. Annette currently works in the South Australian Government part time and has been actively involved in the businesses from day one and brings to Macklin Computers not only excellent administration skills but also many years of practical PC troubleshooting that she has learnt from Michael. She is an integral part of the business and is certain to cement that with her new qualifications. |
